Mariano Trump

By Joseph Catena

I follow politics closely, but there is no way I would call myself an expert. I realized this in 2020. I was certain President Donald Trump would beat Joe Biden and get reelected despite the Covid scamdemic and the tumultuous Summer of Love in Minnesota, care of St. George of Fentanyl. I didn’t think my prediction was all that big of a deal. How many people could Joe Biden, a walking corpse who barely campaigned, possibly get?

Then came The Steal. No “expert” could have forecasted swing states shutting down the vote count for the night. And to this day, no one will ever convince me that the aforementioned mummy legitimately received more than 81 million votes.

Truthfully, I don’t think there is actually a such thing as a bona fide political expert.

Nate Silver, who is especially revered by left-leaning pundits, gave Hillary Clinton a 68.7 percent chance of winning the 2016 presidential election. Fellow prognosticator and 2008 presidential campaign manager for Barack Obama, David Plouffe, ludicrously gave Mrs. Clinton a 100 percent chance of winning. The Republicans were supposed to have a red wave in the 2022 midterms thanks to Joe Biden’s masking of Americans and his economic contribution of 9.1 percent inflation. This election was supposed to be reminiscent of the Gingrich Revolution of 1994 or the Tea Party Revolt of 2010. Instead, it turned out to be one step above impotence. The GOP netted a whopping nine congressional seats and lost a seat in the senate. Perhaps the influx of millions of illegal aliens, another Biden milestone, and mail-in ballots contributed to this, but it was still a political shock.

The most infamous poll of all occurred two years ago when The Des Moines Register and veteran pollster Ann Selzer had Kamala Harris ahead of President Trump by three points just days before the election. The final result was a 13-point victory for Trump.

’26 is ’22 in Reverse

In 2026, we are seeing the GOP facing the same scrutiny that the Democrats faced in ’22. President Trump has faced some stiff opposition to the Iran war, even by some in his party.. And the fact that the midterm elections almost always go against the party in power harbors more bad news for Republicans. House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries is already laying out his 100-day plan as the presumptive majority leader, and Sen. Chuck Schumer is smiling more now than anytime in the last couple of years. As far as the experts are concerned, they appear to be sharing Hak and Chuck’s optimism. But these pundits are also counting on voters to ignore the blatant socialism and antisemitism that has become the de facto Democratic party platform. And inflation under Trump in ’26 is 3.4 percent, 267 percent lower than Biden in ’22.

Fool’s Gold for Texas Democrats

Again, I’m no expert, but there are a few things I’m pretty darned sure about. Texas isn’t going Democrat. Simply put, James Talarico is no Lloyd Bentsen. He’s a weird fellow who will not be able to walk back his disturbing comments about God being non-binary, Holy Mother Mary being pro-abortion, and his gushiness over trans children. The good Christian voters in the Lone Star State won’t stand for it. Republican Ken Paxton will be a solid supporter of the MAGA agenda and a huge upgrade over John Cornyn. Unfortunately, he has the appeal of a dying sloth on the campaign trail. Paxton’s personal baggage including his adulterous past, partying in Dubai with two federal fugitives, and his total lack of energy and enthusiasm are turning a layup into a shot from the top of the key. His accomplishments as an effective attorney general are all but forgotten. Polls show this race to be tied. Bull! Paxton will win.

Creepy Kissin’ Cousin

Speaking of weird fellows, Troy Jackson isn’t winning Maine. Susan Collins, a steadfast moderate Republican who has represented her state since 1996, will win again. The polls have it a dead heat, but remember 2020? Sara Gideon was thought to be the Dem who would finally nab this Republican white whale. Then, Election Day happened, and she lost by nearly nine points. Jackson, a former logger who wound up marrying his second cousin, is an ill-tempered creep who is seeking the socialist vote, hence his recent endorsement by AOC. By the way, Jackson makes Ken Paxton look like JFK.

A Complete Lunatic

Then, there is the epitome of lunacy, Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed. El-Sayed could have almost been mistaken for another Muhammad – Ali – when he predicted he would defeat Republican Mike Rogers by seven points. Conversely, it boggles the mind to think that he should even come within seven points of losing. El-Sayed is a madman. His friendship with Hasan Piker should disqualify him from the human race, much less the senate race. To even consider voting for El-Sayed is insane. Anyone who cozies up to a man who celebrated 9-11 and 10-7 should be labeled subhuman. When former Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard David Duke ran for governor of Louisiana in 1991, not one credible Republican endorsed him or was seen with him. Thirty-five years later, the world of politics has become a strange new place. El-Sayed, a fast talking wannabe tough guy, is nothing more than a Jew-hating, snot-nosed punk. Rogers has tapped into two major Democrat constituencies: blacks and Jews. One Jew in particular, Jason Turkish, is endorsing Rogers. He is the fiancée of Haley Stevens, El-Sayed’s Democratic primary opponent. Yet, a Mitchell Research & Communications poll had E-Sayed leading by seven points. Nonsense. Republicans will flip the seat red.

Minnesota Debacle

The friendliest state in the union has turned into the most corrupt. Young enterprising journalist Nick Shirley exposed the illegal funneling of billions of dollars into Somali-owned  learning centers. It was so bad that America’s worst governor Tim Walz decided not to run for a third term. His odd Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan, now running for U.S. Senate, is denying knowing anything about it and is basically blaming her old boss. But Republican nominee Michele Tafoya isn’t buying it, and her dynamic campaign has made this a three-point race. For the polls to be this close, one can easily make the case that Tafoya is actually leading. The Walz-Flanagan corrupt wokefest coupled with the nasty stench of Rep. Ilhan Nur Said Elmi’s (i.e. – Ilhan Omar’s) shenanigans just might be enough for the GOP to flip a highly unlikely seat.

The ultimate factor in upending the Democrat-loving polls will be President Trump, the greatest closer since Yankee legend Mariano Rivera. In the final push towards Election Day ’26, Trump has barnstormed the country and whipped up his MAGA base to come out as if he himself were running. The more he closes the deal, the tighter the races become.

And if these 30 or so rallies are any indication, candidates in Iowa, Texas, Michigan, Kansas, Alaska, and Ohio, among other states may well be pushed to victory. The president’s boundless energy has proven to be contagious in his presidential runs, and he is arguably the most influential politician in history. He simply gets out the vote.

Trump is also reminding voters of his and GOP successes in the last couple of years. The One Big Beautiful Bill brought forth tax cuts and far better returns for tens of millions of Americans, no tax on tips and overtime, and pro-economic growth incentives. Trump and the GOP closed the border almost instantly and thanks to the National Guard and ICE, crime has dipped to all-time lows. This should be enough to retain the Senate. While the House is a much tougher task, Hakeem should hold off on drafting those first hundred days.

It is also vital for voters to remember, that if war was not waged on Iran, they could have already bombed us with a nuclear weapon. War is ugly, but in this case it was necessary. Nearly 50 years of Irani threats and killing of Americans needed to be addressed. A brief leap in gas prices is a small price to pay to destroy a satan-friendly regime. We are winning and will ultimately win the war for once and for all.

Perhaps President Trump should emulate Rivera and change his theme song to “Enter Sandman.” Every time Major League hitters heard it, their hearts sunk. They knew that Mariano was coming. And no matter how much they prepared for his signature cutter pitch, they just couldn’t hit him. Trump throws high heat. Either way, it should be enough to mitigate the Jew haters and socialists standing at the plate on Election Day.
