And it should scare the hell out of Jersey
By Joseph Catena
As much as I hate cliches, it is so true that you can tell a lot about someone by whom they associate with. It’s even more true with politicians based on whom they endorse.
And that’s another reason New Jersey voters should be terrified of Mikie Sherrill.
During the 2025 gubernatorial campaign, the 50-year-old congresswoman from the Garden State’s 11th district seems to have an issue answering questions directly, an East Coast Kamala, if you will. She also has very bad taste in endorsements. For some unknown reason, Sherrill decided to endorse New York’s antisemitic socialist Democrat Zohran Mamdani for mayor. Apparently, Sherrill dared to do something that even fellow New York lefties, Sen. Chuck Schumer and Rep. Hakeem Jeffries have not – and are likely too afraid to do.
On June 26, she said, “if he’s the Democratic candidate, which it sounds like he is, I assume I will.”
Zohran took that as a yes, and reciprocated her endorsement in August, saying he “absolutely” would. Sherrill has since gone sideways and said she is running in New Jersey and won’t get involved in New York’s races.
But it’s obvious Mikie likes him, which leads us to assume that she must endorse people with the same values as her? Makes sense, no? Furthermore, she certainly didn’t reject his kind words.
Sherrill didn’t have to do anything. Her half-pregnant endorsement meant nothing to Mamdani. She has no real sway or appeal to the masses, nor will she impact him. An alignment with a nepo baby, political neophyte socialist with a fixed smile and protection every time he is asked a tough question definitely will not endear her to New Jersey voters. What she should have done was repudiate him from the beginning and state that she would never support a socialist who loves the intifada. That would have endeared her to independents, who she so dearly needs.
Remember, Trump won 11 out of 21 counties and only lost by six points to Harris in the 2024 election. Had The Donald made more than one campaign stop in the Garden State – albeit one YUUUGE stop in Wildwood that attracted more than 100,000 people – he just might have squeaked by.
What should be even more alarming for the congresswoman is that her opponent, Jack Ciattarelli, is quite familiar with New Jersey’s voters and how to run an effective race. In 2021, he lost by a mere three points to incumbent left-wing Democrat Gov. Phil Murphy, a billionaire. Ciattarelli was virtually ignored by the national Republican party and was competing in a hostile environment. The election came off the heels of the January 6 debacle and the aftermath of the mismanaged Covid fiasco, not the best of times for the GOP. Polls are showing the race is very close, and Sherrill is losing momentum.
It makes no sense that she would support someone whose battle cry is to globalize the intifada. New Jersey also features more than 400,000 Jews who are eligible to vote. Quite frankly, any Jew who votes for Mamdani or anyone who supports him is either a loathsome self hater or just a garden variety moron.
Sherrill’s endorsement reveals a huge lack of political judgment as well as her willingness to consort with the growing radical sect of her party. She favors sanctuary cities as well as allowing transgender men and boys to infiltrate female sports and bathrooms. She certainly will do nothing to bring down New Jersey’s skyrocketing energy costs, as she has gone on record as supporting 100 percent “clean energy” by 2035. Sherrill also echoes buffoonish California Gov. Gavin Newsome regarding a demand for ICE agents to take their masks off.
Digging into her voting record also reveals her to be a pro-abortion extremist. In January, Sherrill voted against H.R. 21, the “Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act.” The bill, which thankfully passed, established criminal penalties for healthcare practitioners who intentionally kill or harm an infant born alive following an abortion or attempted abortion. Literal genocide.
New York City will undoubtedly collapse under a Mamdani administration, and unless a miracle happens, he will win this race. New Jersey doesn’t need to deteriorate with its next door neighbor. A Sherrill win would ensure a continuation of Murphy’s eight disastrous years and a slower simulation of the Big Apple’s impending doom.
But there is a bright side to this. At no point has Sherrill declared her love of government-run grocery stores or replacing police forces with battle-tested social workers. Not yet at least. But, if Zohran the Great actually puts his cockamamie plan into action, who knows what a Governor Sherrill would do.
After all, she once said that his ideas were interesting. And if Mikie likes them enough to put them into action, there’s no telling how much faster the Garden State will rot.
Solid analysis as usual-
Unbelievable on the abortion birn alive. Sad
